Position Summary The Process Engineer sustains released manufacturing processes by improving yield, quality, productivity, and process stability. This role provides daily technical support to production, implements approved engineering changes, and drives continuous improvement to ensure released products continue to meet customer, quality, and manufacturing requirements. Process Sustainment - Sustain released production processes and ensure they remain stable, repeatable, and capable. - Monitor process capability, including Cp/Cpk, and track overall process performance. - Maintain approved process windows and critical process parameters. - Identify process variation and implement corrective actions to restore control. Continuous Improvement - Improve production yield, cycle time, productivity, and overall manufacturing efficiency. - Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize released manufacturing processes. - Lead cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives. - Improve tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methods to support consistent output. - Qualify alternate materials and consumables for production use when required. Production Technical Support - Provide daily engineering support to manufacturing operations. - Investigate process-related rejects, defects, and manufacturing issues. - Perform root-cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions. - Support troubleshooting of equipment issues and process abnormalities. - Reduce production downtime caused by process-related interruptions. Engineering Change Management - Implement Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) after product release. - Update machine programs in accordance with approved engineering changes. - Revise work instructions, process specifications, and related engineering documents. - Maintain PFMEA, Control Plans, and other required process documentation. Production Support - Support pilot production following engineering transfer. - Monitor process performance during early production builds. - Train production operators and technicians on approved process changes. - Support production validation after engineering changes. - Ensure manufacturing readiness for released processes. Cross-functional Collaboration - Work closely with Production, Quality, NPI Engineering, and Operations teams. - Support customer investigations related to production or process issues. - Participate in yield reviews and continuous-improvement activities. - Assist Quality with customer complaints and corrective actions when required.
