Skills and Knowledge: Must have specialized experience working at the Journeyman level of the trade. Must have the ability to use hand and power tool. Must possess knowledge of advance shop mathematics and have the ability to recognize quality work, to read, interpret and apply building plans, specifications, diagrams, blueprints, sketches, and building codes. Must have some knowledge of the Uniform Building Codes. Must demonstrate oral and written communication skills, energy management and conservative efforts. Physical Efforts: Work requires prolonged standing, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, and stooping. Frequently required to work in cramped, awkward, flat, vertical, overhead and in hard-to-reach positions. Lifts light to heavy weight objects. Handles a variety of tools, materials, and equipment. Climbs ladders and may perform work from scaffolds. Arm movement is considerable. Working Conditions: Work is performed outdoors or inside. Indoor work is subject to cuts from hand or power tool. Subject to inclement weather conditions while working outdoors. There is a danger of falling from ladders or high places. Exposed to the possibility of broken bones, burns, cuts and bruises. May be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, smocks, coats, goggles, gloves or shields.
