Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of industrial electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and use skills to restore equipment operation
  • Perform PLC, control circuit, and variable speed AC drive analysis and troubleshooting

  • Install wiring and devices for conformance to company specifications or local electrical codes

  • May operate bench lathes, drills, or other machine tools to fabricate parts
  • Capable of performing other duties assigned by management as required
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
  • Document all repairs and adjustments via maintenance work order system
  • Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform other maintenance actions, following checklists
  • Utilize tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
  • Plan and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, and schematic diagrams
  • Operate cutting torches or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts
  • Align and balance new equipment after installation
  • Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments
  • Set-up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools
  • Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structures
  • Education and Experience
  • Generally, possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years of proven experience in the electrical/industrial electronics field. Additional mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge is required and the ability to demonstrate high proficiency in these areas.
  • Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Robotics experience highly desired
  • Job Requirement Knowledge and Skills
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment including the use of equipment for diagnostic purposes
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to make precise coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate or repair small parts, wiring, electrical, etc from various types of machinery or devices
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and move around the plant for up to 10 hours per day
  • Ability to climb ladders and work on overhead structures, and to work beneath machines and in close quarters performing analysis and repair work
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel whether individually or in a team environment and especially must be able to interface and communicate with line operators to assist with repairs and troubleshooting
  • Possess above average computer proficiency is necessary
  • Possess Computer Aided Design (CAD), and PLC troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work overtime willingly including weekends and on-call hours as scheduled
