Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, test, and improve IoT-based environmental monitoring devices for field data collection.
  • Support the design of reliable field deployment setups, including power management, enclosure considerations, connectivity, and maintenance workflows.
  • Support field deployment and pilot testing of IoT monitoring devices in agricultural, rural, or flood-prone environments.

  • Support engagement with research partners, NGOs, public agencies, agricultural stakeholders, and industry collaborators involved in sustainable agriculture, water management, and environmental monitoring.
  • Conduct in-depth industry and stakeholder research to understand practical use cases, adoption barriers, and potential impact pathways for EOS-RS monitoring technologies.
  • Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant hands-on experience in embedded systems, electronics prototyping, robotics, IoT systems, or sensor-based hardware development.
  • Programming experience in Python, C, C++, or other relevant languages.
  • Experience with microcontrollers, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Arduino-compatible platforms, or similar development boards.
  • Ability to prototype, troubleshoot, and iterate hardware/software systems independently.
  • As position requires stakeholder engagement in English, candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
  • Strong project management skills (project workflow planning, troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments while collaborating with researchers, engineers, students, and external partners.

  • Good to have:
  • Experience with field deployment of hardware systems in outdoor environments.
  • Basic understanding of satellite remote sensing, SAR/InSAR, GIS and carbon credit MRV.
  • Experience in technical leadership, project coordination, proposal preparation, or stakeholder-facing innovation work.
