Responsibilities

- Proficiency with static and dynamic pipe stress analysis methods and tools (AutoPIPE or Caesar II) to determine pipe stress and deflections, as well as forces and moments on supporting structures, equipment nozzles, and other fittings and fixtures
- Ability to work in various field conditions year-round, including wearing full PPE, performing physical tasks, and working at heights and in enclosed spaces
- Your Experience:
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with P.Eng. designation (or immediate eligibility) in New Brunswick is required
- Minimum of 15 years of design experience in process and utility piping design for brownfield industrial facilities, ideally in oil and gas refining or terminals
- Experience working in a stage-gated capital project environment, where design work progresses incrementally, and project performance and documentation requirements apply
- Proficiency with either AutoPIPE or Caesar II pipe stress analysis software, and with Plant3D and Navisworks is a strong asset
- Familiarity with above- and below-ground pipelines (CSA Z662), polymer-lined and refractory-lined steel piping, and pressure tubing/ fittings for pneumatic and hydraulic systems would be an asset

As a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer, you will provide practical, hands‑on technical expertise within our Engineering Services team on a variety of capital and expense projects for Canada's largest oil refinery in Saint John, NB, as well as Irving Oil's network of terminal facilities throughout Canada and the US eastern seaboard. Your goal will be to work alongside team members, project partners, and stakeholders, to successfully plan and execute work, and effectively communicate complex technical issues while building and sustaining piping engineering capabilities. Your success in this position will enable our multi-disciplinary team to execute safely, efficiently, reliably, and productively on engineering deliverables.
