Facilities Trades Assistant

Responsibilities

• We're looking for an experienced Facilities Trades Assistant to join our team in Rockhampton to keep our site safe, well-maintained and operating to the highest standards.
• This is a permanent full-time position working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.
• As a Facilities Trades Assistant at Hastings Deering, you will:
• Drive safety and quality - ensure compliance of safety procedures and high-level quality & contamination control.
• Lead inspections and audits - conduct regular inspections and audits within the business centre.
• Maintain a world-class facility - keep facilities in top condition through general yard cleaning, yard maintenance, cleaning of gutters, painting of offices and floors, handyman work to facility & wash bay duties.
• Collaborate with contractors - engage and work alongside site contractors ensuring safety is not compromised.
• Deliver excellence - take all reasonable steps to ensure that assigned tasks are free of faulty workmanship assuring quality in the finished product.
• Support workshop operations - maintain cleanliness of workshop and parts departments to ensure contamination control compliance.

• A successful teammate will have:
• Proven Experience: Background in a similar facilities or trades assistant role, with a strong understanding of maintenance best practices.
• Exceptional Communicator: Clear, confident communication skills and a genuine commitment to outstanding customer service.
• Licensing Advantage: A current forklift licence is highly desirable and will set you apart.
• Organised & Efficient: Excellent time management skills to keep tasks on track and meet deadlines.
