Background: Must pass Background Check & Drug Screening https://www.axalta.com/corporate/en_US.html (Company Website Link) Job Description : The Pipe Fitter will be working in a pipe crew at a chemical manufacturing site. The crew typically works 10 hour days Monday through Thursday, but members must be available to work overtime on weekdays and weekends when required. Work will consist of piping systems, coded vessels and other mechanical work. This candidate will be a member of a 6-man pipe crew and jobs are typically assigned to teams of two from the crew. This pipe crew is part of the sites 18-person Construction crew. The site is located in a manufacturing facility in Front Royal, VA. MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY Include the following (Other duties may be assigned): Follow proper safety procedures and wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE) in an industrial environment working around solvents and chemicals. Be capable of working at heights. Must be capable of lifting up to 50lbs. Must be able to determine proper material needed per task and procedure. Be available to work weekends and holidays, day before and after as needed. Be able to read and understand Piping and Instrument (P&I) drawings and isometric drawings. Be able to fabricate and fit piping. Be capable of forklift and JCB lift operation. (We will provide training when required). Be willing to do other mechanical jobs than pipe work. Will discuss at interview. Must be available for call-in emergency shutdown work. Must be able to perform work to quality standards POSITION SCOPE : The candidate will primarily work weekdays with the possibility of overtime. Will interface daily with Construction Supervisor, area safety personnel, area operations and maintenance personnel.
