This role will be responsible for authoring and maintaining payment policies and SOPs, identifying and mitigating risks related to inaccurate or inconsistent adjudication decisions, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence. This role reports to the Director of Payments and plays a critical role in supporting scalable, compliant, and high-quality payment operations while protecting member experience and financial integrity at Maven. As a Manager, Payments Program Governance at Maven, you will: Own the end-to-end program governance framework for Maven's payment products, ensuring policies and standards drive accurate, consistent, and compliant adjudication decisions. Author, maintain, and socialize payment-related policies, operating standards, and SOPs, ensuring documentation is clear, audit-ready, and scalable. Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to adjudication accuracy, consistency, and compliance, and system change partnering with Operations and QA to address root causes. Partner strategically with Product, Operations, QA, Legal, Compliance, and Finance teams to embed governance considerations into decision-making and execution. Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert for complex adjudication or policy interpretation issues. Track and report on key governance and risk metrics, driving continuous improvement across payment programs. Manage and develop team members in the near term, building scalable ways of working to support growing governance needs. We're looking for you to bring: 5-7+ years of experience in program governance, payments, operations, healthcare operations, fintech, or a related regulated environment. Proven experience authoring and owning policies, SOPs, and operating standards in high-risk or compliance-driven domains. Strong risk identification and mitigation skills, with experience leveraging QA data, audits, or operational insights to drive improvements. Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs with a high degree of independence and influence. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex requirements into clear, actionable guidance. Experience partnering closely with QA, Compliance, Legal, or Audit teams strongly preferred. Prior people management experience Familiarity with AI The base salary range for this role is $120,000 - $130,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive equity and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset. This role requires active work authorization in the US. Maven embraces a flexible hybrid work model. Our teams primarily operate from the New York Metropolitan area, NY, and remotely via San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA.
