About the role

The Faculty of Engineering is inviting applications for the position of Education Support Officer; Student Advising . This role plays a vital part in delivering a high-quality student experience across the Faculty. It supports students and academic staff by responding to student enquiries across all Schools with accuracy, efficiency, attention to detail, and genuine care for student outcomes. The role provides comprehensive administrative and operational support in areas such as enrolment, progression, and curriculum advice, ensuring students receive timely, consistent, and reliable guidance. The position also uses digital tools to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and enhance service quality. In addition, the Education Support Officer contributes to Faculty-wide education initiatives and projects, helping strengthen education processes and improve outcomes for students at scale. The role reports to the Manager, Curriculum & Quality and works closely with a broader team of four staff, as part of the wider Education Services team of 30+ colleagues supporting education delivery across the Faculty. Your key responsibilities will be to: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the student life cycle Coordinate non-academic processes for curriculum management, including unit of study proposals and changes, degree and program core and elective amendments and required accreditations. Coordinate non-academic accreditation requirements for one or more programs of study Provide secretarial support to the Education Committee Work across education services teams in peak- times and closely collaborate with schools and their education staff About you The University values courage and creativity, openness and engagement, inclusion and diversity, and respect and integrity. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for an Education Support Officer who has: Experience delivering support to education programs in a tertiary education environment Experience working in a tertiary environment with working knowledge of using Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, with a sound understanding of curriculum and teaching activities Flexible and agile with the ability to work in different teams Effective and tactful communication skills (both verbal and written), together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periods Excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes Extensive knowledge of university policies and administrative processes within a tertiary environment. Superior computer skills, experience with Microsoft Office (in particular Excel) together with experience operating with large, corporate-level database and information systems Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This role requires valid work rights for Australia.
