(USA) Staff, Software Engineer (Partner Engineer)

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation. Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable solutions for Solution Providers integrations with Walmart Marketplace APIs.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business stakeholders to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
• Build and maintain robust end-to-end systems, including integration strategies and partner enablement plans.
• Develop strong technical relationships with partners and guide them through complex integration scenarios.
• Deliver high-quality documentation, including architecture diagrams, API references, and integration guides.
• Write developer tools, sample projects, and code snippets to accelerate adoption.
• Identify product/API capability gaps by working backward from customer and partner use cases.
• Influence product roadmap by bringing partner insights into product strategy discussions.
• Provide technical training, onboarding support, and long-term integration guidance to partners.
• Drive alignment on strategic goals and value creation during partner lifecycle engagements.
• Advocate for Walmart Marketplace APIs externally by participating in conferences, webinars, and industry events; contribute to white papers, case studies, and technical blogs to drive awareness and adoption.
• Willingness to travel 20% of the time to meet partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Engineering (Computer Science preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in Partner Engineering, Solutions Engineer, or similar roles, with a strong focus on API-driven integrations.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in software development or solution architecture for large-scale, resilient systems.
• Proficiency in integration technologies such as REST, GraphQL, and SOAP.
• Familiarity with languages such as Java, Python, PHP, or JavaScript and relevant frameworks.
• Proven experience in client- or partner-facing roles, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders across varying levels of technical understanding.
• Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills in fast-paced environments.
