About the role
The School of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Research Fellow Rehabilitation Engineering to join an interdisciplinary research Rehabilitation Engineering program at the University of Sydney. The successful candidate will undertake translational research focused on developing and evaluating innovative technologies to improve function, participation and quality of life for people with disability, under the supervision of Professor Alistair McEwan. Your key responsibilities will be to: work closely with researchers, clinicians, industry partners and people with disability to co-design innovative rehabilitation technologies lead and contribute to research projects in rehabilitation engineering and assistive technology develop, prototype and evaluate novel rehabilitation technologies including wearable, neural interface and robotic systems contribute to competitive grant applications, ethics submissions and project reporting publish high-quality research outcomes in leading peer-reviewed journals and conferences supervise and mentor postgraduate research students and research assistants. About you PhD in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, neuroscience, rehabilitation engineering or a closely related discipline demonstrated experience developing rehabilitation technologies such as exoskeletons, brain-computer interfaces, neural implants or assistive technologies experience working with clinicians, people with disability and other end-users in research or technology development a strong publication record relative to career stage in rehabilitation engineering, biomedical engineering or related fields experience designing, conducting and analysing experimental or clinical research studies demonstrated ability to contribute to multidisciplinary research programs and secure competitive research funding.
