About the role
The Cyber Security Operations Senior Analyst supports the successful delivery of the cyber security operations portfolio, by providing administrative and operational support in coordination with the University's Managed Security Service Providers, and internal partners to ensure that cyber security incidents are identified and responded to, and that the University's information assets are adequately protected. The role supports a team of Subject Matter Experts in the delivery of Security Operations services through the delivery of administrative and operational support for security incident management; security investigations; vulnerability assessment and management; and control remediation activities. Your key responsibilities will be to: deliver cyber security operations services including security monitoring, detection, incident response, and vulnerability management capabilities contribute to the response to cyber security incidents and the investigation of security breaches, and where necessary, direct University stakeholders on containment, eradication and remediation actions provide strategic and/or operational information security advice to clients and ICT stakeholders maintain an awareness of the University's internal and external environment for emerging threats and provide advice the as appropriate assess the vulnerability status of the University's ICT environments in coordination with managed security service providers and validate the scope and priority of remediation requirements coordinate the delivery of security assessment services to ICT and University-wide stakeholders using accredited third-party assessors administer cyber security controls that are within the operational responsibility of ICT Cyber Security. About you demonstrated experience in cyber security operations focused on incident management in complex ICT environments GCIH / GPEN / GCFA or equivalent cyber security certifications ability to independently identify and recommend solutions to information security issues and process inefficiencies expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices ability to assist leadership in advice regarding information security and work as part of a team in a complex organisational structure and ICT environment strong project, analysis, problem solving, and business relationship skills
