Senior Estimator - Industrial Construction (Coatings & Preservation)

About the role

Our client is a specialized industrial construction and preservation contractor delivering high-performance coating, structural painting, and corrosion protection solutions for critical infrastructure across the United States. The company supports complex projects in industrial, infrastructure, environmental, and specialty sectors, with expertise spanning tank rehabilitation, steel preservation, fireproofing, and protective coating systems. We are seeking a Mid-to-Senior Estimator with proven expertise in industrial coatings, structural painting, and infrastructure preservation to support US operations remotely. This is a specialized role focused on estimating projects involving tank rehabilitation, protective coatings, and steel preservation-not general construction. You will own the full estimating lifecycle, from reviewing plans and performing takeoffs to developing pricing strategies and preparing bid packages, while collaborating with a remote US-based estimating team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete estimating process for industrial coatings and structural painting projects
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for preservation, rehabilitation, and protective coating work
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and production costs
• Develop estimates for projects involving:
• Water tanks
• Oil and fuel tanks
• Ground storage tanks
• Elevated storage tanks
• Steel coating and preservation systems
• Prepare bid packages, pricing recommendations, and proposal support documentation
• Collaborate remotely with internal estimating teams and project stakeholders
• Support project handoff activities as needed to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to operations
• Maintain organized estimate files, assumptions, and supporting documentation
• Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of estimating experience within industrial construction environments
• Demonstrated experience estimating structural painting and industrial coatings projects
• Proven expertise with:
• Tank rehabilitation
• Water storage infrastructure
• Oil and fuel tank projects
• Steel preservation and protective coating systems
• Experience owning estimates from initial review through final pricing submission
• Familiarity with US construction standards, specifications, and workflows
• Experience collaborating remotely with US-based teams
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Requirements

• Experience estimating projects within the Florida market
• Background in bridge preservation or steel rehabilitation projects
• Familiarity with protective coating systems and industrial preservation methods
• Experience with elevated and ground storage tank projects

• This role requires specialized industry expertise. Candidates with primarily residential or general commercial estimating backgrounds, without industrial coatings or preservation experience, will not be considered.
