Senior Systems and Applications Programmer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior System & Application Programmer to join our team. In this role, you will architect, develop, deliver and maintain complex application, web, and AI-powered systems - and lead a small team to do it on time, every time.

Responsibilities

• Web Systems
• ▪ Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance web systems and portals
• ▪ Define and enforce front-end and back-end architecture standards
• ▪ Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and accessibility compliance
• Application Systems
• ▪ Develop and maintain enterprise-grade application systems (desktop and/or mobile)
• ▪ Integrate third-party APIs, services, and internal microservices
• ▪ Ensure application security, data integrity, and performance optimisation
• AI-Related Systems
• ▪ Implement AI/ML features including LLM integration, RAG pipelines, and intelligent automation
• ▪ Design and maintain data pipelines to support AI model training and inference
• ▪ Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend adoption where applicable
• Team Leadership
• ▪ Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 4 developers
• ▪ Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and drive continuous improvement
• ▪ Coordinate task allocation, sprint planning, and progress tracking
• Delivery & Timeline Management
• ▪ Own end-to-end delivery of projects against strict deadlines
• ▪ Proactively identify risks, blockers, and mitigation strategies
• ▪ Maintain clear communication with stakeholders on project status and milestones

Requirements

• Technical Skills
• ▪ 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack orsystem development
• ▪ Proficiency in web technologies: HTML5, CSS3,JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Vue
• ▪ Strong back-end skills: Node.js, Python, Java, orequivalent
• ▪ Experience with relational and NoSQL databases(PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
• ▪ Hands-on experience with AI/ML tools: OpenAI API,LangChain, HuggingFace, or similar
• ▪ Cloud infrastructure experience: AWS, Azure, or GCP
• ▪ Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and versioncontrol (Git)
• Leadership & Soft Skills
• ▪ Proven ability to lead small development teams and drive accountability
• ▪ Excellent problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset
• ▪ Strong communication skills - able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
