About the role

You will serve as an EXHIBITS SPECIALIST in the AIRCRAFT RESTORATION DIVISION of NATIONAL MUSEUM OF NAVAL AVIATION. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Restoring and maintaining aircraft, engines, components, and support equipment by using tools and techniques related to carpentry, sheet metal processes, plastics, painting, and molding; 2) Performing operational aircraft maintenance by recognizing a wide variety of aircraft parts, components, and support equipment; 3) Reading and interpreting technical drawings to perform aircraft maintenance duties; 4) Utilizing knowledge of artifact conservation principles and methods to develop lists of needed construction materials; and 5) Planning and designing museum exhibits, displays, publications, and presentation materials.
