- Guarantee the company is always capable of deploying hotfixes for any service , promoting and validating processes that favour the use of tested release candidates over cherry-picked changes.
- What it takes to be successful:
Requirements
- Experience: 3+ years in Release Engineering, or DevOps within SaaS/Cloud-native environments.
- CI/CD Mastery: Proficiency with tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins.
- Microservices Architecture: Solid understanding of microservices, including API versioning, compatibility testing, and contract testing.
- Deployment Strategies: Hands-on experience with Canary Releases, Blue-Green deployments, and Feature Flag management.
- Observability: Ability to use monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog) to validate release success in real-time.
- Pragmatism: Ability to balance process rigour with the need for engineering flexibility and velocity.
- Communication: Excellent ability to translate complex technical risks into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Resilience: Remains calm and analytical when managing release-related incidents or high-pressure deployment windows.
