Additional Information
Amazon Relay is the technology backbone connecting carriers to Amazon's middle-mile freight network, moving millions of loads weekly across North America. The Carrier and Load Lifecycle team owns the analytics that power how carriers are acquired, onboarded, activated, assigned loads, execute shipments, and get paid. We are looking for a Business Analyst II who will build new analytics frameworks from scratch and maintain existing reporting infrastructure to solve problems across these lifecycle stages. You will own carrier engagement metrics, load execution KPIs, and churn diagnostics end-to-end. You will write complex SQL against petabyte-scale datasets, design interactive dashboards in Tableau and QuickSight, and maintain production-grade reporting systems that leadership relies on daily. You will partner directly with Product Managers to define success metrics for carrier-facing features, collaborate with Operations to diagnose load failures and carrier drop-off, and present insights to senior leadership through written narratives and ad-hoc deep dives. Your work directly influences how we allocate capacity, measure success, and make strategic decisions across the Relay network. Key job responsibilities Own carrier lifecycle analytics across all stages. Build acquisition funnel metrics, onboarding conversion rates, activation timelines, engagement scoring, and churn prediction frameworks as new solutions. Develop load execution analytics covering acceptance rates, on-time performance, dwell time, disruption rates, and payment cycle health. Build interactive dashboards in QuickSight and Tableau that provide visibility into carrier and load health across lifecycle stages. Design calculated fields, parameters, filters, and drill-downs to enable independent exploration by stakeholders. Maintain existing dashboards and reporting systems (weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews, anomaly alerts), ensuring data accuracy, timely refresh, and alignment with evolving business definitions. Optimize SQL queries for performance and validate data quality across production pipelines. Partner with Product Managers to define success metrics for carrier-facing features. Translate product hypotheses into measurable experiments and provide data-driven recommendations on prioritization. Collaborate with Operations to diagnose root causes behind carrier drop-off and load failures. Recommend process improvements backed by data. Present insights to senior leadership through written narratives and deep dives. Influence team strategy by identifying where carrier experience gaps create network risk and where automation can replace manual intervention. A day in the life You will work with Product Managers, Operations leaders, and Engineering teams. Your customers are the carriers and drivers who move freight across the network. Your day involves building new analytics, maintaining existing reports, and partnering with teams to solve problems. You might investigate a performance trend in the morning, then present recommendations to senior leadership in the afternoon. The problems you solve include understanding what drives changes in business performance, measuring the impact of new features, improving reporting speed, and finding opportunities to reduce cost or improve experience.
