About the role

As a Senior Engineer in the Customer Support Apps team, You will drive customer engagements on GA products, supporting issue resolution, deployment, and optimization in real-world environments. You will work closely with customers to understand use cases, reproduce issues, and ensure successful product to production. You will collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Segment, Sales, BU, and Program/Product Management teams to translate customer issues into actionable insights, identify gaps, and influence product quality, usability, and system performance. Responsibilities

  • Customer Support Apps
  • Handling all customer reported issues related to Wi-Fi products
  • Create Applications based on customer requirements and use case to resolve the issues.
  • Act as the technical point of contact for assigned customers
  • Gather use case and support customer on resolving the issues.
  • Drive end-to-end customer enablement from Development to production readiness
  • System Validation & Product Readiness
  • Validate releases going out as GA, and play a vital role to ensure scoped issues related to customers are being fixed and they are working as expected after fix.
  • Review docs like DS, errata (if any), GSGs, app notes , KBAs as per needs.
  • Raise gaps on the quality of the product based on the issues raised by the customers,
  • Debugging & Issue Resolution
  • Own customer issues end-to-end: reproduce, debug, escalate, and close
  • Debug across layers: application, TCP/UDP, IP, Wi-Fi MAC/PHY, and system level
  • Analyze issues related to connectivity, throughput, power, coexistence, and certification
  • Use tools such as Wireshark, iperf, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers
  • Debug Infrastructure & Diagnostics
  • Define and drive requirements for debug infrastructure (logs, traces, crash dumps)
  • Enable efficient field issue triage and root cause analysis
  • Work with R&D to improve system observability and debuggability
  • Able to understand debug techniques using JTAG.
  • Sample Applications & Documentation
  • Define and develop use-case-driven sample applications aligned with target customers
  • Contribute to SDK examples, application notes, and developer documentation as per customer pain points.
  • Ensure documentation completeness and usability for customer adoption
  • Creation of KBAs to make customer life easy for using a feature that is critical.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with R&D, SQA, Product Management, Segment teams, PjMs and FAEs
  • Influence product roadmap and feature prioritization based on customer insights
  • Support certification, interoperability, and ecosystem readiness
  • Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded Wi-Fi development, system validation, or applications engineering
  • Experience in customer enablement or product bring-up for Wi-Fi SoC/MCU platforms
  • Required Skills
  • Strong fundamentals in Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax); exposure to Wi-Fi 6/7 is a plus
  • Experience with embedded systems, MCU, RTOS, and SDK development
  • Strong debugging skills across networking and system layers (OSI model)
  • Hands-on experience with tools: Wireshark, iperf, sniffers, logic analyzers.
  • Understanding of RF fundamentals and coexistence
  • Experience with hardware interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, SDIO
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Experience with embedded Linux or host-based networking systems

The CSA (Customer Support Apps) Apps team focuses on supporting customers on the products that are GA'ed, working closely with customers to resolve the issue raised by them on the SiLabs products. Apps team also closely works with R&D, Product Management, Segment teams, to ensure the issues are resolved as per the timelines mentioned by the customer. This team acts as a front facing to the customers, in resolving issues faced while developing their product using SiLabs Wi-Fi BLE products.
