Senior Systems Engineer II

About the role

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Technology, Infrastructure, and Operations group. In this role, you will work closely with global engineering teams to design, build, and operate scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on technical role focused on building and operating platforms. You will contribute to shared infrastructure, improve automation, and enhance the reliability and performance of our systems. You'll play a key role in shaping DevOps best practices, improving developer experience, and driving operational excellence across multiple products.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
• Build, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to enable reliable and fast software delivery.
• Operate and support applications across the full SDLC , including deployment, monitoring, and incident response.
• Implement and improve observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) to ensure system reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis and resolution .
• Collaborate with Development and Product teams to improve system performance, reliability, and developer productivity .
• Optimize cloud usage and contribute to cost efficiency and governance .
• Contribute to automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve consistency.
• Participate in on-call rotations and support production systems as needed.
• Contribute to shared platform engineering efforts across global DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering roles in a product-based environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS
• Solid experience with Kubernetes in production environments.
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) .
• Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., New Relic, Prometheus, ELK stack).
• Strong troubleshooting skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers .
• Proficiency in at least one scripting/programming language ( Python, Bash, or similar ).
• Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Good understanding of cloud security, networking, and system design principles .
• Strong sense of ownership and ability to work independently in a distributed team.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, etc.).
• Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet).
• Familiarity with data systems like PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and microservices architectures.
• Exposure to cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
• Understanding of release management and deployment strategies.
• Experience working in large-scale, multi-product environments .
• A strong hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure problems.
