Assistant Early Years Educator

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in preparing lesson materials to support effective classroom instruction
• Monitor and supervise children during classroom activities, field trips, and meal times to ensure safety and engagement
• Support teachers in developing individual instructional materials using relevant references and sources
• Provide administrative support by maintaining class records, updating portfolios, and communication books accurately
• Assist teachers in assessing student work to track learning progress
• Help children with toileting and other personal needs to promote their well-being and comfort
• Required competencies and certifications
• Certificate in Fundamentals in Early Childhood Care and Education (FECCE)
• Preferred competencies and qualifications
• Demonstrate creativity and inspire children with positive energy
• Communicate effectively and build strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Apply instructional skills tailored to each child's learning style
• Exhibit a nurturing disposition with patience and passion for working with young children
• Prior experience in early childhood care or education is advantageous
