About the role

We are actively seeking several Case Manages for our Specialized Foster Care Clients located in Chicago and Lockport, IL. As a Case Manager / Child Welfare Specialist, you will provide child welfare services to clients within Agency policies and programs. You will be responsible for carrying caseloads involving foster care or group home residents. This opportunity requires strong clinical and supervisory skills as well as experience working in the foster care or child welfare system. This position also requires you to perform a range of social work duties including the gathering and analysis of data, formulation of treatment plans, transportation and supervised visits. You are also responsible for the facilitation of sibling/parental visitation, attendance at collaborative conference with DCFS/ Juvenile Court as well as school conferences. You have to be able to formulate an understanding of each client's situation. In this opportunity you will need to have an eye for being able to provide an appropriate service that matches the client's family needs. In addition to performing record keeping functions and other administrative duties as required by the Agency and within established timeframe. Job Responsibilities Committed to and works effectively with families and staff in a culturally diverse environment Holds regular (at least bi-weekly) meetings to discuss and document current caseload In person evaluation and/or monitoring of foster home resources Maintain close communication with DCFS Agency Licensing and Institutions liaison to maintain efficient flow of the licensing process Submit required weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to DCFS Train, supervise, and evaluate Licensing Representatives and Family Support Specialists in their service functions

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • CERAP (Child Endangerment Risk Assessment Protocol), and Child Welfare Employee Licensure within two (2) months of employment if not already certified, SACWIS (Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System)/CWEL (Child Welfare license) certification.
  • Must have a valid Illinois Driver's License and a vehicle available for home visits
  • No history of child abuse or neglect.
  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to juggle multiple competing tasks while using professional judgment and keeping key constituents in the loop
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening hours
