Now, let's talk about the role: We're searching for a Senior Emergency Veterinarian who is energised by the pace and unpredictability of emergency care and values being part of a team that genuinely has each other's backs. This a maternity leave cover until July 2027 with a genuine possibility to extend into an ongoing permanent role. At AEC Gold Coast, emergency medicine is at the heart of what we do. You'll be working alongside experienced vets and nurses who understand the demands of ECC and actively support one another through it. From complex surgeries to critical cases, you'll have the tools, trust, and teamwork needed to do your best work-without feeling like you're doing it alone. Our hospital is equipped with advanced technology including digital radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, and ventilators, so you can focus on delivering high-quality care without compromise. We're looking for someone who: Enjoys the intensity and variety of emergency medicine Is comfortable with overnight shifts and a rotating weekend roster Confident supporting and mentoring newer graduates Can step into a shift leadership role if required Works well in a collaborative, tight-knit team Holds (or can obtain) registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board of Queensland Brings experience in ECC-or has at least 5 years in general practice and a strong interest in transitioning into emergency Approaches their work with positivity, professionalism, and a commitment to patient care What you'll find here: A thoughtfully managed roster designed to reduce fatigue and give you real downtime A supportive team culture where people look out for each other, both professionally and personally Opportunities to keep growing, with mentoring, specialist connections, and access to ongoing education A broader network of ECC and referral hospitals to expand your experience and knowledge
