About the role

Introduction The Pepperstone story started in 2010. We know what it's like to trade the world's markets. Our team describes us as a place for the curious and the driven, and we like to do things a little differently; as a transformative global fintech we're digital, nimble, connected, and united in our vision to create a better way to trade. We thrive on progress - for our clients and for ourselves. Our organisational culture is ever-evolving, vibrant, diverse, global and results focused. You'll find our 700+ team currently across 12 locations and 9 time zones. The Role We're looking for an experienced and technical Solution Architect who will be responsible for owning the full institutional and programmatic access layer of the cryptoexchange - the complete surface through which professional trading counterparties connect, communicate, and route order flow. At the core of this role is deep, practitioner-level expertise in the Financial Information eXchange (FIX) protocol: the dominant connectivity standard for institutional trading globally and the primary gateway through which the exchange will attract and retain our institutional traders. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this role holds responsibility for both server-side and exchange FIX strategy, ensuring that connectivity and message-flow is optimized across Pepperstone Crypto's trading integrations. This role is the internal authority that ensures the exchange's access layer is reliable, performant, and competitive enough to attract and hold significant institutional order flow. As our Technical Solution Architect, your key responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Lead the design and iteration of the Department's core technical architecture. Combine the business scenarios of cryptocurrency exchanges/traditional exchanges (such as trade matching, clearing and settlement, market data distribution, risk control, etc.) to formulate high-availability, high-security, and high-concurrency technical architecture solutions to ensure system stability and scalability. Be responsible for the complete design, implementation and optimization of the financial protocol FIX API, including protocol specification definition, interface document writing, interaction logic design, and compatibility adaptation. Ensure that API meets exchange compliance requirements, business needs and industry standards, and supports multi-scenario access such as institutional clients and liquidity providers. Combine the characteristics of the exchange industry, sort out business pain points and technical bottlenecks, provide forward-looking technical solutions, promote the upgrading of technical architecture, and improve system performance, security and operation and maintenance efficiency. Lead the review and implementation of technical solutions, coordinate cross-team resources such as R&D, testing, and operation and maintenance, ensure the implementation of architectural design, and solve core technical problems in the implementation process. Be responsible for the formulation and promotion of technical architecture specifications and development standards, guide the R&D team to carry out work related to architecture implementation, and improve the team's technical capabilities and R&D quality. Pay attention to industry technical trends (such as blockchain technology, distributed architecture, financial protocol upgrades, etc.), and introduce appropriate technical concepts and tools combined with exchange business needs to drive technological innovation. Cooperate with compliance, risk control and other departments to ensure that the technical architecture and solutions comply with financial regulatory requirements and exchange industry norms, and avoid technical compliance risks. Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronic Information or related majors; Master's degree or above is preferred. At least 10 years of work experience in software R&D and technical architecture, including at least 3 years of relevant work experience in cryptocurrency exchanges or traditional exchanges (securities, futures, foreign exchange, etc.). Familiar with core business processes of exchanges (matching, clearing, market data, risk control, etc.). Solid technical architecture design skills, with complete experience in distributed system and high-concurrency system architecture design. Able to independently complete the whole process from demand analysis to architecture implementation. Complete experience in financial protocol FIX API design, proficient in FIX protocol (FIX 4.4 and above) specifications. Able to independently design API interfaces, define interaction logic, write detailed interface documents. Candidates with FIX API implementation and optimization cases are preferred. Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (Java, Go, C++, etc.), familiar with core middleware such as distributed cache, message queue,
