Responsibilities

- Develop educational programmes for patients / carers to promote their understanding and evolve strategies for patient self-management.
- Actively safeguard the welfare and safety of patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Ensure safe transfer of patient to recovery area with the appropriate post-operative instructions.
- Ensure post operative instructions are communicated.
- Document patient care according to hospital policy.
- Key Skills / Qualifications:
- RN 1st level registration - NMC registration
- ODP Level 3 NVQ or Diploma in Perioperative Practice - HPC registration
- Teaching/assessing qualification
- Current experience as SFA- Desirable
- Handling of scopes to assist minimally invasive /procedures.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Experience of delivering, monitoring, and evaluating training programmes with clinical staff.
- Experience in audit and reviewing practice
- Experience in the development of policies and protocols to support best practice.
- Experience in complaints and incident management.
- Experience in risk assessment and management
