Fire Inspector II

Responsibilities

• Completes fire and life safety inspections in campus buildings, residence halls and others. These duties may require operating a University vehicle.
• Assists in the development of emergency evacuation plans and reviews submitted plans to ensure information is correct and up to date.
• Provides training to audiences on a broad range of topics related to fire and life safety as directed.
• Leads and schedules evacuation exercises for campus facilities.
• Completes training and utilizes procedures for completing basic plan reviews, construction inspections, and code compliance reviews.
• Responds with other EHS personnel to emergencies on campus and assists emergency responders.
• Required Education and Experience:
• Associate degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
• One (1) year of related experience.
• Preferred Education and Experience:
• Experience with the Commissioning of Fire & Life Safety Systems.
• Experience with Basic Plan Reviews for construction.
• TCFP Fire Inspector Basic Certification.
