Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate student engagement programs and community-building activities.
  • Track program participation, outcomes, and effectiveness through accurate recordkeeping.
  • Manage program and service check-ins at the NCRC Issue Desk.
  • Ensure facility spaces are secure, properly reserved, and used according to policies.
  • Inspect, prepare, and maintain recreational equipment, supplies, and facility amenities.
  • Oversee equipment rental operations.
  • Troubleshoot facility, operational, and software-related issues.
  • Supervise evening and weekend events at NCRC and Intramural Sports programs.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for participants and visitors.
  • Provide guidance to student organizations regarding facility use, reservations, and policies.
  • Collaborate with campus departments and student organizations on programs and events.
  • Promote participation in recreational and intramural activities.
  • Develop and support marketing materials, signage, and participant communications.
  • Lead emergency medical responses, incident management, and crisis communications when on-site.
  • Address safety concerns and recommend operational improvements.
  • Serve as the evening and weekend contact for facility-related questions and emergencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student employees.
  • Provide coaching, performance feedback, evaluations, and corrective action when necessary.
  • Support student staff development and leadership training.
  • Maintain attendance and performance records.
  • Resolve scheduling conflicts and staffing challenges.
  • Supervise intramural competitions and activities.
  • Assist with official training and student leadership development.
  • What We Need

  • Associate degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in intramural sports and/or intramural officiating.
  • American Red Cross Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications upon hire or within 30 days.
  • American Red Cross Adult CPR, First Aid, and AED Instructor certification upon hire or within 6 months.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email systems, spreadsheets, and social media platforms.
  • Ability to learn and troubleshoot workplace software applications.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and recordkeeping accuracy.
  • Experience supporting or demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, access, and wellbeing initiatives.
