Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting Systems Job Description As the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting Systems , you will lead the global revenue accounting function, serving as the bridge between technical accounting, financial operations, and systems innovation. This is a high-impact, permanent leadership role designed for a "builder" who can manage the day-to-day complexities of global revenue close while simultaneously driving a long-term automation and transformation roadmap. You will own the end-to-end Quote-to-Cash (Q2C) lifecycle, acting as a strategic business partner to Sales, Legal, and IT to ensure that our revenue processes are compliant, scalable, and optimized for rapid growth.

Responsibilities

  • Functional Leadership & Team Management
  • Manage the Revenue Team: Lead, mentor, and develop the revenue accounting team, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Operational Ownership: Oversee the global month-end close for revenue; ensure accuracy, timeliness, and strict adherence to IFRS 15.
  • Business Partnership: Act as the primary finance partner to Sales, RevOps, and Legal. Provide guidance on deal structuring to optimize revenue recognition outcomes.
  • Technical Revenue Accounting
  • IFRS 15 Expertise: Lead the assessment of complex, multi-element SaaS contracts, variable consideration, and contract modifications.
  • Policy & Governance: Maintain and update global revenue recognition policies and the SOX/internal controls framework.
  • Audit Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors regarding all revenue-related matters.
  • Systems Ownership & Implementation
  • System Roadmap: Act as the Business Owner for revenue systems (e.g., SAP RAR/URR), defining the vision for how technology supports the accounting function.
  • SAP Implementation: Lead the revenue workstream for SAP Universal Revenue Recognition deployment, translating accounting requirements into system design and leading UAT/SIT.
  • Q2C Integration: Partner with IT to ensure seamless data flows from CRM and CPQ through to the ERP, ensuring "one source of truth" for revenue data.
  • Transformation & Automation
  • Process Engineering: Map current-state processes to identify manual pain points and "dead zones." Design and implement a future-state model that prioritizes automation.
  • Scalability: Standardize revenue operations across different product lines and geographies to support global expansion.
  • Data Quality: Drive initiatives to improve data integrity within the billing and revenue engines to reduce manual reconciliations.
  • The Profile
  • Experience: 8-10+ years of progressive experience in SaaS or Technology revenue accounting, with at least 3 years in a leadership/management capacity.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep subject matter expertise in IFRS 15 and a proven track record of operationalizing complex accounting standards.
  • Systems Fluency: Hands-on experience with ERP/RevRec implementations (specifically SAP RAR/URR or similar enterprise tools). You are comfortable "speaking tech" with developers while maintaining an accounting lens.
  • Change Agent: You don't just follow processes-you improve them. You have a mindset geared toward automation and eliminating manual work.
  • Communication: Ability to influence C-suite stakeholders and explain complex accounting concepts to non-financial partners.
  • Education: Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
