MISSION Reporting to the Manager, Finance & Accounting, the Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial accounting support, including analyzing and preparing routine and non-routine accounting journal entries, reconciling general ledger accounts, and supporting other special projects on an as-needed basis. KEY PERFORMANCE METRICS Meet all financial reporting deadlines while keeping quality top of mind to facilitate an effective period end close Provide timely response and feedback to internal queries for information and/or assistance Policy and practice adherence while ensuring compliance with IFRS reporting requirements Strong communication and teamwork skills to enable effective collaboration with cross functional partners KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Functional Maintain and prepare certain monthly journal entries; conduct regular reviews of related accounts and conduct structured analyses of data for consolidated results Produce and create reports from the accounting system, adhering to processes to ensure accuracy and completeness of records Prepare sales tax filings on a timely basis to ensure compliance with federal and provincial reporting requirements Diligently maintain full compliance with the company's internal financial controls Participate in financial analysis and discussion of results on a monthly basis Provide input in the development of the annual budget Challenge the status quo by participating in financial system continuous improvement projects, including the streamlining of business processes and new IT system upgrades or implementations Act as an advocate for the customer by placing their expectations and needs at the forefront of all design and decision-making processes Ad hoc requests and projects, as assigned People Collaborate with others to drive flexible and iterative solutions, quickly and easily Share technical knowledge with others and actively seek to learn from those more knowledgeable than yourself Cultural Model Indigo's values everything that you do Celebrate diversity of thought and have an open mindset Take an active role in fostering a culture of continual learning, taking risks without the fear of making mistakes Embrace, champion, and influence change through your team and/or the organization SCOPE Reports to: Manager, Finance & Accounting Manager once Removed (MOR): Director, Finance & Accounting KEY RELATIONSHIPS Internal: Finance Internal Audit Information Technology Procurement Supply Chain Human Resources Loyalty Legal Real Estate Marketing External: Vendors Work Experience / Education / Certifications University degree in Finance, Business or Accounting CPA designation or close to obtaining 3+ years of experience in similar roles Competencies / Skills / Attributes Working understanding of IFRS reporting framework Willingness to take ownership of projects, enabled by strong organizational skills and diligent follow-up on action items Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task to complete projects on time Effective problem solving and decision-making skills, including an ability to interpret when a problem could exist based on quantitative and/or qualitative indicators Ongoing pursuit of thought leadership with a continuous improvement mindset Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications Familiarity with SAP is considered an asset At Indigo, all applications submitted are reviewed in detail by our HR team.
