Materials Handler

Requirements

• 3 years of materials handling experience, including forklift utilization and inventory management software system experience
• Preferred:
• 3 years of warehouse materials handling experience in the last 5 years including forklift and inventory management or ERP system experience
• Licenses & Certifications:
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR card and Idaho Power forklift certification within 30 days
• Forklift certification requirements by location include rough terrain, counterbalance and narrow aisle certifications
• Idaho Power certification to operate forklifts and manlifts, First Aid/CPR card, or DOT PHMSA 49 CFR Part 172 hazardous materials training at time of hire

What does a Materials Handler do for us? The Materials Handler, with limited supervision, receives, stores, retrieves, and issues electrical utility materials, tools, supplies, and equipment; they use a computerized Enterprise Resource Planning system to accurately record all materials movement transactions; develop and maintain indoor and outdoor storage areas; maintain organization, cleanliness and 5S Standards within facility and daily workspace; and ensures a safe working environment through regular safety inspections and cleaning and maintenance of all storage and work areas and equipment. They must work in a team-oriented environment with high focus on customer satisfaction. The work is performed in both a warehouse and yard environment, which involves working with chemicals, equipment, hand and power tools, and material that requires special handling, storage, and packaging due to exposure to potential environmental and safety hazards.
