It's an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. What does a Materials Handler do for us? The Materials Handler, with limited supervision, receives, stores, retrieves, and issues electrical utility materials, tools, supplies, and equipment; they use a computerized Enterprise Resource Planning system to accurately record all materials movement transactions; develop and maintain indoor and outdoor storage areas; maintain organization, cleanliness and 5S Standards within facility and daily workspace; and ensures a safe working environment through regular safety inspections and cleaning and maintenance of all storage and work areas and equipment. They must work in a team-oriented environment with high focus on customer satisfaction. The work is performed in both a warehouse and yard environment, which involves working with chemicals, equipment, hand and power tools, and material that requires special handling, storage, and packaging due to exposure to potential environmental and safety hazards.
