About the role
This Valuation Associate will perform valuation financial reporting and analysis for Korea business. The role will contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the financial forecasting infrastructure and analytic foundation by developing/maintaining actuarial models and processes used not only for valuation, but also to support unbiased business planning, reporting, economic capital refinement, capital planning, cash flow testing, and other such uses. This role will provide general valuation, financial analysis, and project assistance.
Responsibilities
- Financial reporting Generate expected cashflows for quarterly closing
- Develops, enhances, and maintains valuation projection models
- Support quarterly GAAP and statutory financial reporting
- Support movement analysis on liabilities and SOE (source of earning) analysis
- Experience study Responsible for ground works to support actuarial analysis
- Support experience studies of mortality, morbidity, lapse and basis change
- Experience monitoring and support experience variance analysis
- Performs other duties as required
Requirements
- At least Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years and maximum 8 years of actuarial experience (valuation, experience study, IFRS 17 and K-ICS etc) in life and/or non-life insurance companies
- Actuarial software experience (Prophet is preferred)
- Good understanding of Korean life insurance products (or non-life long-term products) and financial statements
- Good verbal and written communication skills in both Korean and English
- Korea qualified actuary is preferred
- Proficient Excel and software skills including database applications is preferred (Python, Oracle, SQL, Macro)
