Responsibilities

  • Attend complex technical queries related with derivatives and their accounting, processes and systems in place. Meet sophisticated reporting requirements from OpCo's and Group Treasury
  • Liaise with other departments and external contacts on issues raised, pro-actively look for potential gaps in processes, ensure best experience is provided to the OpCos. Lead the resolution of any issues raised by the Team.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and workload is split between team members in efficient manner to allow for reduction of overtime in peak periods.
  • Accountability for Period End Close process coordination for Treasury Accounting area. Take personal responsibility for Team's outputs and work including accounts, reports and control review. Sign off packs used in reporting to stock exchange.
  • Support the Team in producing month end and year-end financial and management reports. Ensure other ad-hoc requests are delivered as identified by the Finance Managers, Directors, CFOs and other key stakeholders.
  • Together with FRM Team, implement and monitor hedging strategies to protect against financial market volatility. Monitor risk exposures in accordance with Group Treasury, make sure that all treasury risk controls are maintained.
  • Support in proactively managing the Investment Portfolio processes; identify and assess investments in accordance with the Investment policy.
  • Help in account reconciliation, cash & debt management. Cooperate with Cash Management Team on treasury processes and trade lifecycle.
  • Liaise with Finance Teams to prepare forecasts, business and financial plans for senior management. Analyse market data and portfolio composition to provide insights on the movements.
  • Help to bridge the gap in understanding between economics of trades and financial reporting.
  • Integrate new acquisitions into Group Treasury. Understand the accounting and workload impact of any new processes and work with the stakeholders and wider business to implement.
  • Look for ways to optimise and standardise Treasury Accounting processes. Drive process improvements and automatization for all the teams involved in Treasury processes.
  • Work closely with the IT Support team to monitor IT development progress and reduce manual input.
  • Participate in Treasury related projects driving process or system improvements (simplification, automation, standardisation, and security).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements (eg. IFRS9, IFRS13, IFRS16) and internal risk management policies. Challenge OpCos and/or Treasury Teams if non-compliance occurs.
  • Stay up to date on regulatory and accounting standard updates. Be able to interpret applicable standards and translate them into action points. Engage in companywide accounting policy changes in coordination with Group Technical Accounting Manager.
  • Support audit process within Treasury Accounting area, implement recommendations arising from the internal audit review. Maintain and update process documentation across the team.
  • Support external audit requests, coordinate the efforts for treasury operations during interim and year end audit.
