We are seeking an experienced Lecturer (Level B) to play a vital role in shaping outstanding learning experiences while building a strong and sustainable academic career. You will contribute to high‑quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including work-integrated learning, and actively engage in scholarly research that advances knowledge in criminology and criminal justice. Applicants with a research interest in road policing, deterrence, and the criminological consequences of drug and alcohol impairment are strongly encouraged to apply. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Contribute to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of high-quality outputs that demonstrate impact. Undertake high quality research that may have measurable impact on policy and practice in the wider community and attract and generate competitive research funding. Foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching across the spectrum of the University's undergraduate, postgraduate and professional program suite facilitating high quality, student-centred learning activities consistent with Griffith Graduates of the Future strategy. Continuously improve teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches. Inform the quality, innovation, currency and evidence-base of teaching and learning through scholarly activities, commitments and outputs. Develop and implement evidence-based strategies that facilitate improved student retention, employability and successful outcomes for students. Provide educational leadership to a discipline including responsibility for academic and work-integrated learning courses. This is a fixed term (until June 2030), full-time position primarily based at Griffith University Brisbane South (Nathan) or Gold Coast. As Griffith is a multi-site University you may be required to work across other locations. Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples. Salary Range The full-time base salary will be Lecturer (Level B) in the range $117,076 - $139,031 per annum, plus 17% superannuation. The total package will be in the range $136,979 - $162,667 per annum. The successful candidate will hold a doctoral or masters qualification of equivalent accreditation and standing and/or significant progress towards completion of a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline or field. You will also have: Demonstrated capacity to conduct and publish quality research. Demonstrated capacity to deliver high-quality teaching and to engage students effectively. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to interdisciplinary projects. Demonstrated experience in providing academic support and mentoring to students.
