About the role
The Generator Mechanic performs maintenance and repairs for mechanical equipment at CMI's customer site in Beltsville, MD. Key Job Functions Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings, equipment and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance: this includes being able to work with various types of materials: woods, plastics, paints, glass, sheet metals, PVC products, greases, oils, etc. Perform minor maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, removing, relocating, and/or installing building furnishings (i.e. pictures, towel dispensers, shelving, etc.) in order to complete task. Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment/furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer's operation manuals. Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance, repair orders, and projects to complete each task. Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and platforms. Move and arrange heavy office furniture, equipment or supplies as needed. Perform other general mechanic related duties as required High School Diploma or Equivalent Must have expertise in troubleshooting and repairing generator systems and possess relevant certi f ications. Experience performing related services within a government facility Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools, small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task. Properly maintain, clean, and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area.
