- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

Job Description: The Mammography Technologist and Breast Sonographer is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams, breast ultrasounds, and biopsies and procedures on patients using specialized equipment. This position works closely with radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. This is a "hybrid" role used in areas where both mammography and sonography are required to provide patient care and this role requires a strong understanding of imaging techniques in both mammography and ultrasound, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Essential Functions Maintains American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or modality-specific competency in all clinical and technical functions Ensures proper patient identification, orders verification, and prepares the patient for the exam Performs radiologic breast imaging exams per department protocol including Breast Ultrasound and advanced Mammography procedures like stereotactic biopsies, Ultrasound core biopsies, clip placements, drainages, etc. Demonstrates positioning competency. Operates the mammography and ultrasound equipment with skills to identify and record anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, ensuring high quality images are produced. Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment. Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns. Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques. Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, record patient information, procedures performed and any adverse reactions. Follows protocols, coding, charging, consents, QC programs, and reporting equipment failures.
