Responsibilities
- Support Lead Brake system Engineer in brake system project team in India and in other sites, as a project responsible engineer for brake systems
- Ensure the correct transfer of the technical documents prepared during tender phase to the project team
- Ensure that all technical requirements and demands by the Customer are covered by the defined Engineering-Scope. Technical risks are identified and covered.
- Support Lead Brake system Engineer in technical discussions with customer with relevant technical information and analysis
- Involvement as technical support for Marketing activities
- Manage the product development plan, with focus on implementation, integration, verification and homologation. It shall cover all the products involved in the project, including software.
- Manage the customer gate reviews, ensuring a proper preparation by the project team and a positive achievement of the milestone.
- Ensure that Verification & Validation is properly planned, performed and documented
- Ensure that that the delivered product, as the sum of all sub-functions and subsystems, performs as requested to fulfil the Customer contract, the Wabtec requirements and the safety requirements.
- Manage requirements in the tool ensuring flow down of requirement from train level to system level, sub system level, product / software and validation of requirements through V cycle process
- Manage within the project team the brake system homologation process, ensuring the respect and the management of all homologation and certification requirements.
- Qualification & Experience:
- Bachelor or Masters in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent domain
- Minimum 2 to 4 years of relevant experience on brake systems & control, from Automotive / Rolling stock / Brake system supplier.
- Knowledge on brake control electronics is an advantage
- Strong communication skills
- High customer focus
- Mindset to work in global environment with interaction with counterparts across other sites in Europe.
