Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a well-designed model risk management framework that meets our fast-paced and dynamic company's needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Guiding and advising teams in different parts of our organisation including Finance, Operations, Analytics, Decision Science, Sales & Marketing on model development, validation, and implementation processes.
  • Reviewing and evaluating validations of models including accuracy, performance, and predictive power.
  • Monitoring model performance over time and recommending necessary updates or modifications
  • Providing reporting and intelligence concerning our models to Risk Committees and Ebury Executives
  • Ensuring adequate documentation for all model development and validation activities.
  • Keeping abreast with changing regulations pertaining to model risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Providing training and raising awareness on model risk issues in the organisation.
  • Leading efforts to improve the data quality and monitoring of data feeding into each model. Liaising with the Data Teams to maximise the value of our Data Observability platform
  • What we expect from you:
  • Risk Management Expertise: You have experience of working with various types of risk, including operational, financial, and market risk, and be familiar with regulatory requirements related to risk management.
  • Communication Skills: You can communicate complex concepts and risk assessments to stakeholders and top-level management.
  • Knowledge of Financial Models: You are familiar with the types of financial models used in the company and industry at large.
  • Data Platforms and Data Teams: You are familiar with a modern Data Platform and the related engineering, analytical, design and architectural skills involved with meeting the needs of a data-driven business
  • Attention to Detail: With risk management, small details can have a significant impact. So having an eye for detail and ensuring all aspects of a model are scrutinised is a vital skill.
  • Strategic Thinking: You can think strategically about how Ebury's business is exposed to model risks and what preventative measures can be taken whilst balancing what is feasible for teams that work in a fast-paced environment and are often already stretched.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: You have a good understanding of industry regulations and standards related to risk management.
  • Certified Risk Manager: Certifications like FRM (Financial Risk Manager), PRM (Professional Risk Manager), or CRM (Certified Risk Manager) could be beneficial.
