About the role

You will serve as a QUALITY ASSURANCE SPECIALIST in the PRODUCTION RESOURCE CODE, PRODUCTION OPERATIONS, PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD. FOR THE GS-12: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in working knowledge of NAVSEA requirements and operating procedures relating to Submarine Safety Certification and ship readiness for sea. Experience implementing quality principles and practices with a broad understanding of production management, inspection, and quality control processes. Experience interpreting directives, instructions, plans, standards, and procedures. Experience applying practical knowledge of Shop maintenance, repair, inspection, and test procedures. Experience interpreting inspection requirements, job orders, work instructions, technical data, product specifications, drawings, policy statements and other related guideline material for identifying characteristics to ensure quality. Experience applying quality principles and practices with a broad understanding of production management, inspection, and quality control processes. Experience exercising judgement to interpret directives, instructions, plans, standards, and procedures. Experience applying practical knowledge of Shop maintenance, repair, inspection, and test procedures. Experience assisting in interpreting inspection requirements, job orders, work instructions, technical data, product specifications, drawings, policy statements and other related guideline material for identifying characteristics to ensure quality.
