About the role

We are looking for an experienced and versatile Assembly Technician to join our Assembly team based at our Kemps Creek branch. In this role you will be assembling, striping, repairing, testing and inspecting Xylem and associated companies' pumps and products. You will work closely with the Warehouse team (Production planners and other Technicians) to ensure optimal flow of inventory and resources in the workshop. What will you do Completing production assemblies accurately and quickly according to work order instructions. Inspecting and testing products prior to despatch to customers Reading, interpreting and retaining, instructions and technical drawings Managing workshop supplies and inventory on and off jobs, to maintain the accuracy of system inventory Implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives in the workshop, to improve quality, safety, speed or cost Maintaining documentation and reports consistent with company policies, procedures and safety requirements Providing timely and accurate advice and support to staff and customers

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude and interest in developing your skills
  • Trade Qualification - Role would suit people from electrical trades, fitter and turner, mech fitter, mechanic or small engine mechanic
  • Lathe and other machining experience desired
  • A strong understanding of pumps and associated product assembly, within a pumping related industry
  • Organised, detail oriented, and can work in teams or independently
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
