You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSADMIN) in the Systems Support Division, of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. (For GS-11) I have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined: 1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: overseeing the implementation of programming specifications by monitoring program design, coding and debugging performed by contractors. 2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: determining customer requirements and assisting customers by recognizing and analyzing trends by providing instruction and orientation. 3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: contacting customers at the Help Desk Level that may include those who are skeptical or uncooperative, skilled in communication to relay instructions and represent the team in meetings within the organization. 4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing the types, frequency and solutions necessary to correct problems and improve help desk operational procedures. (For GS-11) In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Resume must demonstrate the following specialized: Experience as a specialized system administrator not limited to but to include expert installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of various operating systems. Experience implementing software upgrades ensures that all enterprise systems remain secure, functional, and up to date with the latest patches. Experience analyzing and defining network requirements allows for the seamless integration of hardware and software within complex environments. Experience diagnosing and resolving network problems demonstrates a proactive approach to maintaining high system uptime and reliability. Experience managing Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) bandwidth requirements ensures optimal data flow and minimal latency for all users. Experience configuring and optimizing network servers, firewalls, routers, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and switches provides a robust and secure architecture. Experience meeting and maintaining rigorous qualifications, such as those outlined in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce and Department of Navy policies, will be achieved within nine months of hire. Experience implementing industry-standard security protocols is evidenced by a CompTIA Security+ certification, currently held or to be obtained within the first year of employment.
