About the role
We are looking for a Planner to join its Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for production planning, inventory management, raw material planning, and ensuring smooth order fulfilment to support business operations across the Asia Pacific region.
Responsibilities
- Production Planning & Scheduling
- Schedule production for customer orders, distribution orders, safety stock, and other demand requirements based on due dates, product characteristics, and machine capabilities.
- Release Manufacturing Orders according to the production schedule.
- Monitor production progress and update production plans accordingly.
- Coordinate closely with the production team to resolve production backlogs.
- Follow up on rework processes arising from Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Inventory Planning & Control
- Plan inventory for imported finished goods sourced from regional affiliates.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for finished goods, work-in-progress (WIP), and raw materials.
- Review and manage excess, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory to minimise write-offs.
- Initiate inventory write-off processes in accordance with management approvals or NCR decisions.
- Raw Material Planning
- Review material requirements and reschedule deliveries to support production and inventory objectives.
- Coordinate the call-in of locally sourced materials to meet production schedules.
- Order Fulfilment
- Liaise with Customer Service on stock availability and communicate inventory changes promptly.
- Quality Management
- Work closely with Quality Control (QC) to ensure products are approved by the required due dates.
- Collaborate with QC, R&D, Purchasing, Production, and cross-functional teams to resolve NCRs involving raw materials, semi-finished, and finished goods.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings.
- Operations Support
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and work instructions.
- Track and report key operational performance indicators.
- Support quality and financial audits.
- Prepare Supply Chain reports and maintain ERP system data.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- 2-4 years of planning experience in a batch manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of MRP II is essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
