Serves as a member of Mosaic's global Law Leadership Team (LLT), acting as Legal Leader in South America, providing strategic and operational leadership for all legal functions in Brazil, Paraguay and Peru. Partners closely with other business and functional leaders in Brazil to ensure a strong strategic presence across internal stakeholders and external partners. Collaborates with other members of the LLT to align legal strategies in the region with Mosaic's broader business objectives, including risk calibration aligned with South America business strategies. Leads the provision of general legal counsel for Mosaic's operations in Brazil, Paraguay and Peru, anticipating and mitigating legal exposure; developing and implementing legal policies and procedures; assessing and managing litigation, including overseeing external counsel to reduce legal risks and costs; and proactively supporting other attorneys globally across a broad range of matters, including corporate legal compliance (in collaboration with Mosaic's enterprise Corporate Compliance team within the Law Department), intellectual property, business development, corporate finance, and labor and employment issues. Oversees all legal matters related to Mosaic's commercial operations in Brazil and Paraguay. Provides periodic reporting to Mosaic's General Counsel on legal matters pertaining to South America operations. The main activities are: Strategic Legal Leadership - Provide legal leadership to Mosaic's South America operations, ensuring business strategies and conditions address appropriate risk mitigation goals advising senior business and functional leaders on legal, regulatory, commercial, and reputational risks. Develop and implement legal policies and procedures. Manage external counsel partners to optimize expertise and manpower needs. Labor Relations - Provide strategic labor and employment counsel to Operations, Human Resources, and Government Affairs leaders. Support the development, negotiation, and implementation of labor relations strategies, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and alignment with business needs. Risk & Legal Management (Transactions and Litigation) - Engage in litigation management, risk analysis and local governance, contract drafting and review, M&A, and other transactional work. Oversee litigation strategy, contract review, transactional support, and allocation of internal and external legal resources. Manage outside counsel to ensure high-quality, efficient, and cost-effective legal service delivery. People Development - Ensure that Mosaic's South America employees working in the Law Department function are properly engaged and working on the most important matters to execute on strategic priorities. Build internal bench strength resulting in significantly higher internal promotion and fill rates. Aligns team priorities with enterprise and regional business objectives. Compliance - In collaboration with Mosaic's enterprise Corporate Compliance team within the Law Department, ensure legal compliance with all local and federal regulations including those associated with US-based companies operating in Brazil, Paraguay and Peru. What do you need for this role? Advanced English Bachelor's degree: Law and Legal Studies Certification: OAB (Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil) Proven experience leading teams in complex, fast-paced corporate environments. Strong business acumen, acting as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders and business functions Excellent stakeholder management skills Strategic and systems-thinking mindset, with the ability to assess business-wide impacts and drive holistic solutions. Proven track record supporting business transactions and partnering with Commercial, Credit, Risk, and Procurement teams. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to operate effectively in collaborative and multicultural environments. Experience with M&A transactions and/or Joint Ventures is considered a plus.
