About the role

Job Description: Job Summary: Responsible for the development and execution of product cost optimization strategy that improves product costs & margins, reduces operating costs, and meets service level obligations. This includes supporting the product cost reduction activities and cost reduction budgets within Belkin's Finance Organization including should cost modeling, commodity cost management, technology roadmap & trend and value engineering projects. Specific responsibilities include: Identify cost-saving opportunities and to develop and implement strategies to reduce product costs. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that products are designed and manufactured in the most cost-effective manner possible. Develop and maintain cost models to support product cost analysis and decision-making. Collaborate with suppliers to identify cost-saving opportunities and to negotiate favorable pricing and terms. Monitor project costs and commitment to budget and forecast. Implement processes and tools to improve product cost visibility and control. Provide guidance and support to other departments on cost-related matters. Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices related to product cost engineering. Responsible for establishing key supplier relationships, managing and holding vendors accountable to supplier agreements, and negotiating efficient costs while maintaining high quality, and ensure best in class value Responsible for managing, controlling and optimizing costs of products in close cooperation with product management, engineering, SQA & finance groups Responsible for product cost analysis and identifying cost improvement opportunities Contribute to RFQ Develop RFQ & cost analysis processes for supplier proposal evaluations and decision makings Working closely with product management, engineering and sales teams on value engineering projects Ensure regular reviews of operational efficiency and provide process improvement suggestions that create cost reductions, improved customer experience Identifying new sources with better overall competitiveness and/or new technologies Work with Product development and sourcing departments to integrate new supplier or new product launches Support Company's Affirmative Action, Social Responsibility & Sustainability Work with SQA team in implementation of supplier audits per ISO and Customers required standards; understand and fully support Belkin's business management system. Understand and follow company rules and regulations Maintain a safe and clean work environment Perform all other duties as assigned and required Education and Experience Requirements: 5-8 years of experience in cost engineering and value engineering BS degree of Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration or similar degree Experience with should-cost tools and other methods of cost build-ups and analysis Familiarity with Oracle ERP and Logility demand/inventory planning systems preferred. Supply chain management of a global organization required. Experience managing technical commodities and suppliers. Familiar with key manufacturing processes and product costing fundamentals within the assigned portfolio. Ability to work collaboratively and openly with cross-functional business partners Excellent communication skills and strong process management capabilities necessary Prioritize and manage a variety of complex projects Results orientated with a strong focus on the customer (both internal and external) Fluent in English (verbal and written) What you're getting into We've got big collaborative spaces for your big ideas, so bring an open mind and leave your suit in the closet.
