Responsibilities

Requirements

  • General understanding of Clean Air Act (CAA), North Carolina and South Carolina Air Regulations.
  • Experience with air permitting and compliance activities.
  • Experience working with federal, state, or regulatory agencies.
  • Experience in supporting environmental compliance at multiple facilities and/or within multiple regulatory jurisdictions.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and successfully complete each of them within specified timeframes.
  • Experience working with diverse groups toward the successful execution of a common goal or objective.
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written) and interpersonal skills with a customer-oriented focus.
  • Working Conditions
  • Hybrid Mobility Classification - Work will be performed from both remote and onsite locations after the onboarding period. However, hybrid employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to a Duke Energy facility.
  • Office environment with exposure to PC terminal and keyboard
  • Outside work during all seasons.
  • Occasional overtime, weekend, outage and callout work.
  • Field, work site, facility visitation required.

The successful candidate will conduct air permitting and compliance activities to support plant operations and business units across the company. The position will be responsible for maintaining current knowledge of environmental laws and regulations and working knowledge of technical aspects of regulatory requirements. This position works with and under the guidance of experienced team members, using established procedures to support environmental technical growth.
