Test Environment Engineer UNIX & Data Virtualization Data Platform (Manager/AVP) Role Purpose The Test Environment Engineer (UNIX & Data Virtualization Platform) is responsible for managing, operating, and supporting the Data Virtualization Platform used in test environments. The role focuses on database virtualization, environment refresh, provisioning, and lifecycle management to ensure reliable and secure test data availability for application testing. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience in UNIX/Linux systems, enterprise databases, and data virtualization platforms within a regulated test environment. Key Roles & Responsibilities: 1. Own and provide operational support for the Data Virtualization Platform across test environments. 2. Manage database virtualization activities, including cloning, linking, refresh, and data lifecycle management. 3. Support end ‑ to ‑ end Data Virtualization Platform operations covering provisioning, recycling, decommissioning, and lifecycle management. 4. Coordinate closely with application and testing teams to ensure test environment readiness for planned test cycles. 5. Monitor Data Virtualization Platform health, capacity, and performance to ensure platform stability and availability. 6. Provide operational support for UNIX/Linux systems hosting test environment databases. 7. Support database ‑ level activities for test environments, including Oracle, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB, MySQL, YugabyteDB, or equivalent enterprise databases. 8. Perform backup, restore, and recovery activities relevant to test environments in accordance with approved procedures. 9. Troubleshoot and resolve operating system ‑ level and database ‑ level issues affecting test environment availability. 10. Ensure compliance with banking security standards, audit requirements, and regulatory controls applicable to test environments. 11. Enforce approved data access controls and data masking standards within test environments. 12. Maintain accurate SOPs, operational documentation, environment runbooks, and recovery procedures. 13. Participate in platform enhancement, migration, optimization, and standardisation initiatives. Required Qualifications & Experience: Education - Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical discipline. Technical Experience 1. Minimum 3 years of hands ‑ on experience supporting Data Virtualization Platform s, including but not limited to Actifio/IBM Virtual Data Pipeline (VDP)/SSH Tectia/Cron/Control ‑ M and so on. 2. Minimum 3 years of UNIX/Linux experience (RHEL, AIX, Solaris, or other Linux distributions). 3. Strong scripting or development experience in one or more of the following: Bash/Shell/Perl/Python/Java/JSON/XML/SOAP 4. Mandatory hands ‑ on experience with Actifio/IBM Virtual Data Pipeline (VDP), including database virtualization, database Clone, database link, and database refresh management 5. Strong understanding of virtualization data and database management concepts. 6. Hands ‑ on experience supporting enterprise databases such as: Oracle/PostgreSQL/Microsoft SQL Server/MongoDB/MySQL/YugabyteDB or equivalent 7. Experience working in banking services, or highly regulated environments. 8. Familiarity with data access controls, data masking concepts, and audit requirements in banking environments. 9. Experience managing refresh schedules and handling environment dependencies. 10. Exposure to virtualized infrastructure platforms (e.g., Vmware/Huawei). Knowledge & Competencies 1.
