THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (TRAINING SPECIALIST), Position Description Number D2162000 and is part of the KS 184 Wing, National Guard. Military Grades: E5 through E6 GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately. Able to apply procedures and directives by reading and interpreting technical material. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, using presentation and report formats. Demonstrated ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. Learned ability to assess the surrounding environment to recognize immediate risk levels. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Knowledge and understanding of Air Force, National Guard, and organizational structure, missions, and responsibilities. Knowledge of Security Forces (SF) reports and analysis of functions of information, industrial, and personnel security concepts, principles, and practices to participate in the planning and implementation of security training programs in these areas. Ability to establish effective working relationships with SF branch and section chiefs, contributing to a cooperative work environment and successful accomplishment of the mission. Ability to instruct training courses in a classroom seminar setting. ANG QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for the National Guard Dual Status Series 0080, GS-09, the incumbent must have at least 24-months experience, education, or training in planning, directing, coordinating, and controlling installation and law enforcement activities. The incumbent must have experience providing training in areas related to this position and analyzing reports of investigations and maintaining security records. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: No special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work. Typically the work is performed while sitting; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items, driving a vehicle, etc. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is generally performed in a well-heated, lighted, and ventilated office setting. Normal, everyday risks are encountered in going to and from offices and buildings, traveling by military and commercial transportation while performing temporary duty away from the permanent duty station.
