About the role

You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION SPECIALIST in the Training Section of COMMANDER, NAVAL REGION JAPAN. ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector demonstrating knowledge of aircraft crash rescue, structural firefighting, shipboard firefighting, hazardous materials response, petroleum, oils, and lubricants incidents to plan, develop, coordinate, and instruct formal training programs for fire and emergency services personnel. Experience developing lesson plans, scheduling and conducting training, maintaining certification records, and evaluating firefighter performance during drills, exercises, and emergency operations. Experience administering mandatory compliance training programs required by Department of Defense, Department of the Navy, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, and National Fire Protection Association standards. Experience advising supervisors and personnel on training requirements, qualification standards, readiness deficiencies, and corrective actions to maintain operational capability. Required DOD Certifications: Fire Officer III, Fire Inspector II, Fire Instructor III, Haz-Mat Incident Command, and Airport Firefighter.
