To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-13. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience working with the entire range of security programs: physical, information, personnel, industrial, Operations Security (OPSEC) from the tactical level to the strategic; Experience providing oversight and guidance for security programs in accordance with federal statutes and regulations; Experience developing and implementing policies and procedures in all areas of security programs for appropriate execution of programs and in compliance with strategic objectives; and Experience providing oversight of comprehensive Emergency Management program which includes the development of plans and procedures to be activated in the event of a national or localized emergency requiring mobilization (e.g., COOP, Occupant Emergency Plans (OEP). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
