Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present cafeteria meals for all departments according to standardized recipes, production schedules, and quality standards
- Set up, stock, replenish, and maintain food stations and serving lines during meal periods
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature control, health regulations, and hotel safety policies
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, workstations, cafeteria areas, and storage spaces
- Receive, label, store, rotate, and maintain inventory of food products and supplies while minimizing waste and assisting with ordering
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Provide professional, friendly, and proactive service while supporting fellow team members and assisting with additional assigned duties as needed
- Any other tasks that may be assigned
- Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
- YOUR EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS INCLUDE:
- Creative and passionate about food and customer service
- Must be able to work any shift assigned, such as holidays, weekends, mornings, afternoons and evenings.
- Able to work in a high-pressure environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; a team player
- Previous experience in the culinary field required
- Journeyman's papers or international equivalent an asset
- Diploma Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
- Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
- Responsible for State & Federal Food Handlers certification (mandatory)
