The Pharmacy Technician Supervisor performs assigned functions with a primary focus on frontline leadership within specialty pharmacy operations. This role serves as a leader, role model, and subject matter expert for call center pharmacy technicians and access coordinators. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily operations to ensure accurate, timely, and patient-centered service delivery aligned with ChristianaCare's Core Values of Love and Excellence. This position supports staff development, operational efficiency, and adherence to established workflows and standards, while demonstrating sound judgment in identifying and escalating clinical, operational, or patient safety concerns to pharmacists and pharmacy leadership. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Oversee and coordinate daily operations of Pharmacy Technician I, II, III roles and Access Coordinators supporting the Specialty Pharmacy Program Provide direct supervision of assigned staff, including hiring support, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and completion of evaluations Develop staff schedules, manage time and attendance, and maintain timecards to ensure appropriate coverage Ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures, safety practices, and HR requirements; provide education and corrective action as needed Serve as a working supervisor by performing technician and access coordinator duties during staffing gaps or increased demand Oversee specialty pharmacy workflows to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (URAC, ACHC, state, and federal requirements) Lead and support quality improvement and process optimization initiatives Participate in program planning, including development of goals, monitoring operational trends, and identifying growth opportunities Support educational activities, including assisting with precepting pharmacy students and residents under pharmacist supervision Contribute to policy and procedure development, review, and implementation Promote a Culture of Responsibility by supporting investigations, addressing performance concerns, and mitigating risks Ensure compliance with departmental safety standards and maintain a safe work environment Participate in leadership meetings, operational initiatives, and accreditation readiness activities (e.g., Joint Commission, URAC, ACHC) Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders Ensure a clean, organized workspace and hold staff accountable to the same standards Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development among team members Monitor and ensure compliance with required education and training for assigned staff Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent required Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required Minimum of 2 years of experience in specialty pharmacy required
