Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute high-impact advocacy strategies and drive the business's positioning on key files.

  • Knowledge and demonstrable experience with designing and executing advocacy initiatives on EU legislation relating to packaging circularity, food waste and Digital Product Passport legislation and standards.
  • Deep understanding of the EU decision-making process and a proven track record of engagement and influence in Brussels, ideally on the topic of food waste and packaging circularity.
  • 5-6 years' experience in government affairs or public affairs roles, ideally within a corporate, with direct responsibility over advocacy campaigns and direct exposure to outreach and engagement activities.

  • Experience serving as a strategic liaison to the business, analysing the impact of legislative trends and partnering with product, compliance, strategy teams to proactively mitigate regulatory risks and identify growth opportunities.
  • Excellent external communication and public speaking skills and the ability to engage policymakers, industry peers and other key stakeholders to build relationships and represent Avery Dennison's values and policy priorities;
  • Work experience in either the European Parliament and / or the European Commission.
