Responsibilities
- Develop and execute high-impact advocacy strategies and drive the business's positioning on key files.
- Act as a liaison to internal business functions (including Legal, Compliance, Product, Strategy), monitoring legislation and analyse legislative trends to proactively mitigate risks and identify growth opportunities.
- Draft position papers, consultation responses, and factsheets to support advocacy and internal implementation efforts.

- Required
- Knowledge and demonstrable experience with designing and executing advocacy initiatives on EU legislation relating to packaging circularity, food waste and Digital Product Passport legislation and standards.
- Deep understanding of the EU decision-making process and a proven track record of engagement and influence in Brussels, ideally on the topic of food waste and packaging circularity.
- 5-6 years' experience in government affairs or public affairs roles, ideally within a corporate, with direct responsibility over advocacy campaigns and direct exposure to outreach and engagement activities.

- Experience serving as a strategic liaison to the business, analysing the impact of legislative trends and partnering with product, compliance, strategy teams to proactively mitigate regulatory risks and identify growth opportunities.
- Excellent external communication and public speaking skills and the ability to engage policymakers, industry peers and other key stakeholders to build relationships and represent Avery Dennison's values and policy priorities;
- Work experience in either the European Parliament and / or the European Commission.
